Can you send the patches for the bugs you fixed? Or even better..., 
attach them to the regarding bug reports in our bug tracking system on

We'll take a look on them and commit them if we think they are OK :). 

Helping us with bug fixing would be great, I think it can be done via 
our bug tracking system without problems.
