We are proud to announce OTRS::ITSM 1.2.0 beta1(Whitehaven Beach)
today. This is a beta release of OTRS::ITSM 1.2. which is not
recommended to use for productive operation. Beta releases are
published for test purposes only.

OTRS::ITSM is the first ITIL compliant IT service management
solution on open-source basis. It is built on the solid
fundament of 55,000 OTRS productive installations in 26 languages.

OTRS::ITSM 1.2.0 beta1 requires the installation of the brand new
OTRS version 2.3. All functionalities known from OTRS continue
to be available with OTRS::ITSM 1.2.0 beta1.

Enhancements:
=============

* The packaging strategy of ITSM has been changed. New ITSM
  packages and their names are now related to supported ITIL
  processes and can be installed separately.

* Reduced reloads: ITSM functionalities (e. g. priority calcula-
  tion based on a tickets impact) have been reimplemented in
  AJAX technology to reduce necessary reloads. That leads to an
  increased speed using OTRS::ITSM.

* Joint Link-Object mechanism: OTRS::ITSM 1.1 and lower releases
  were designed based on an own extended Object-Link mechanism.
  As a consequence, the Object-Link functionality of OTRS couldn't
  be used in OTRS::ITSM. A joint Object-Link mechanism has now
  been implemented, which covers all the features from both former
  Link object mechanisms.

* Improved speed: the improvement to faster access the Configura-
  tion Items (CI) database has been achieved by switching database
  access technology to SQL bind parameters.

* Locations: Locations are no longer a separate menu item. They
  are now integrated into the Configuration Items, which will
  bring a sustainable gain in flexibility.


Fixed bugs:
===========

* Bug #2883 - Auto-link for merged tickets didn't work properly.
              OTRS::ITSM 1.1 and lower releases were designed based
              on an own extended Object-Link mechanism. As a
              consequence, the Object-Link functionality of OTRS
              couldn't be used in OTRS::ITSM. A joint Object-Link
              mechanism has now been implemented, which covers all
              the features from both former Link object mechanisms.

Known Issues:
============

* Bug #3060 - Upgrade from OTRS::ITSM 1.0/1.1 to OTRS::ITSM 1.2
              could not be processed automatically.

* Bug #3061 - The SLA zoom mask doesn't show the allocated
              services.
