I must say my install on CentOS 4.4 was way easier. I just used the  
otrs rpm. I also used Dag Wieers' repository so there is no need to  
install Perl modules via CPAN (you can just use yum) and I used the  
standard mod_perl which comes with its own apache config. No need to  
edit any config files.
