I'm totally approving and agree with this behavior, that's the most important thing I think to make a software improving by the time and make it better and better. Even if not all personal modifications /customizations are useful to everyone, it can be for a few people searching for specific features not included by default in OTRS.
Our OTRS system has been customized and it's more and more a "problem" when upgrading version ...

Does your theme works with OTRS framework v2.2.x please, I see on your website it's released for OTRS 2.1.x ?
Do you have a "simple" method to avoid losing modifications done on the Standard Theme when installing a new one please ?
Do you have any english version [or even French :o)] of your website please ?

due to some requests I put a previously mentioned OTRS-theme into an
opm-Package. You may download and check it out:

The package just installs a new OTRS-theme, which needs to be selected
