unable to submit ticket

Dear All, Whenever I try to create a new ticket and click on send mail, I get the following error. Software error: Cant write /opt/otrs/var/log/Ticketcounter.log: at ../..//Kernel/System/Ticket/Number/DateChechsum.pm line 87 Please help as it is urgent. Regards, Amit Jain

Change the file permissions on /opt/otrs/var/log/Ticketcounter.lock so that the webserver and also the otrs user may write to the file. A chmod 775 /opt/otrs/var/log/Ticketcounter.log should solve the problem.

Hello Christian, There is no file TicketCounter.log in /opt/otrs/var/log/ Even I created manually and made it 775, but still I am getting same error. Hmm, a file called TicketCounter.log should be there. If not, your installation is broken :(. The TicketCounter.log file is a real central file, it should never be removed.

Try to make it 777..., thats not the best but the quickest solution. If the problem still occures, something really strange is going on with your system which needs to be researched.
