commercial extensions/add-ons

Hi,
is it possible to hire OTRS development team for making some system
extensions or custom add-ons?
I'm asking on behalf of Terena Mobility Taskforce (GN2-SA5).
The biggest deal on the wish list is making two or more OTRS systems to
interact. With simple words, besides moving tickets between queues,
moving between OTRS systems would be possible too.
Any kind of information would be more than appreciated.

Hi Alex, as Stefan already mentioned you can obtain commercial support for OTRS, see http://otrs.org/support/ for more information. However, we have already connected two OTRS-instances. OK it's a while ago: it was based on OTRS 2.04. The first instance was used to process and manage test protocols, which were entered as tickets or articles respectively. If a test was unsuccessful, the article was sent to another OTRS-instance which was used for development-/bug-repairing organisation. The transfer method for this interface was an protocol based on encrypted email (since the OTRS-instances where located in different DMZs and there was no way to get some firewall clearing - email was ok). Since the c.a.p.e. IT is a partner of the OTRS AG we support them in some projects. For instance. right now I'm developing an interface from OTRS to some CRM-System on behalf of the OTRS AG. There are already some ideas for interlinking two (or more) OTRS-instances on my whiteboard (and even more in my head :)). From this point of view, I'm sure there's a solution for your problem. regards, Torsten Thau - -- Torsten Thau, Dipl. Inform. c.a.p.e. I've already done that. I'm waiting for their offer now. :-)

Interesting. You've mentioned that article was sent, what about whole ticket (including history, etc) would be sent? We need that, because tracking conversation and it's history is important to us.

I'm glad to hear that! Hopefully we'll set some kind of arrangement.
