Hi. I'm trying to set up a workflow in OTRS ITSM 3.2.1. I can create a Change, add conditions and workflows manually and run it all through the steps I want just fine. But adding all the conditions manually every time I create a change gets really old really fast. The documentation as well as numerous web pages Google found, it is indeed supposed to be possible to get conditions (and workorders?) into a template. Somehow. But all the templates I create are utterly devoid of any detectable content. Is there any documentation anywhere that gives at least a hint of what you need to do to get a Change template with some sort of content in it? -- Calle Dybedahl calle@init.se -*- +46 703 - 970 612

Hi Calle, first you need to create a change manually, add workorders, and add conditions/actions. After that you can click on "Template" in the change zoom screen. This will save your change, all included workorders and conditions/actions, and if you check "Reset State" all the change state and all included workorder states will be reset to their initial value. If you want to create a new change from your template, just go to the Change Menu, and select nes, and then just select the template name in the first dropdown list, and select the time when you want to start yor change. Thank you. I did figure that out eventually. The thing that led me wrong was the appearance of the Change create page, which is really not obvious. I also considered the fact that it took half a day to figure out, and that neither reading the documentation or plentiful googling helped, prompted me to file a bug on it. Even something as simple as changing the label of the "Create" button to "Create from template" would've saved me hours! -- Calle Dybedahl calle@init.se -*- +46 703 - 970 612
