Hi Steve.

I guess that by "not" you mean "now".

To change the look and feel of OTRS, you should start by creating a theme and then make all the changes to that. Check out http://doc.otrs.org/2.2/en/html/c1782.html

After this, you'll have a Kernel/Output/HTML/<theme> directory, where <theme> is the name of the theme you've created. In this directory you can hack about on the layout of the screens.

Be aware that some things can be enabled or disabled by configuring OTRS (e.g. what buttons you see in the agent interface) and other things you must change by hand in the theme (e.g. removing the language select box on the login screen).

The LOGO and CUSTOMER NAME you're looking for are managed in the theme.

Yes I sometimes have a habit of not reading directions completely…. I’ve now configured the database successfully (I believe) and am in the admin setup screen.

Anyway I am not looking to customize some of the screens… Like the customer creation screen shows LOGO and CUSTOMER NAME so I’m sure there are modifiable fields somewhere….

Anyway thanks for the kick in the head J

Steve

Hi Steve.

If you look at the error, it asks if you've configured the database yet and tells you how to do it:

No database connect! Error!

  May your database isn't configured yet?

 Try the web installer to configure your database:

     -->> http://ftp.helicosbio.com/otrs/installer.pl <<--

Try that. If that doesn't work, try configuring the database manually. That's also specified in the error message you get.

Hi everyone, we’re trying to install this onto a RHEL5 server and all seemed to have gone well but otrs doesn’t start with the following messages. I don’t see any other setup tasks involving the database but it is definitely running, I can log into it just fine. I do not know however the otrs user password for MySql. Maybe I don’t even need to know it, who knows…. This looks like it would be a common problem so I thought I’d ask the list for help. Thank you!

Steve
