Yes, procmail is an email filter to modify email. I thinks it's similar to qconfirm!? Procmail (http://www.procmail.org/) can also be used with other MTAs like sendmail, exim, ... See also the OTRS online doc to learn how it work with OTRS. :)
We also have a lot of faxes (as pdf attachements) entering into the system. Any experience with OCR (*.pdf to *.txt converters) and OTRS? Look at the pdf converter from phpMySearch.web4.hm. It was in php, but it works.
