Hi Robert,
We have started running OTRS on Windows Server 2008 R2.
We are currently investing in how to migrate to Linux because we have unstable performance, more need for windows updates (and necessary repoobts) and the system log for OTRS which is only enabled for linux.
Also we want to save the costs to purchase the Windows license. So if you are familiar with Linux I would recommend to go for Linux. Also the large amount of installations seems to be on Linux which is the impression I got when browsing many forum entries in order to solve issues and questions.
I am also new to OTRS and therefore am looking for further inputs by the community.
Regards,
Jan
Hi All,
I'm wondering if you know any pros and cons of running OTRS on Linux vs running it on Windows?
Apart from obvious differences that come from OS, are there any benefits for the application whan it's run on Linux (eg. is it more stable, better tested etc)?
I'm just about to choose the platform so any info would be useful. Thanks a lot
