Try "strace rpm -Uhv otrs-1.0.0-RC1.i386.rpm". this should show you where the command hangs (looks like a RPM problem). Anyway, the package name (for SuSE 7.3) changed from 0.5 (otrs-7.3) to 1.0 (otrs) so you need to use 'rpm -i'.
