If you guys would be willing to patch Kernel/System/CustomerUser/DB.pm, I think that this feature would be a great boon to the community at large.
Unfortunately this would be a hack (not a regular patch working for everyone). -=> The best solution would be a new OTRS module for the self administration of users (customer users).
