[otrs] Database import export (populating a new OTRS instance with data from an existing OTRS instance)

I have currently one OTRS instance running on one machine, but I am planning on installing a new (fresh) OTRS instance on a larger server. Therefore I am interested in hearing about best practices and experiences on how to export data from one OTRS instance to another. - Can I just export the whole database? - Or should I rather export data from a few tables? All suggestions are welcome Thanks Stig Rasmussen
