      What logs are saying this? SysLog? what about apache logs?

Well, no joy.  Even disabled mod_security temporarily for otrs.

Ah.  The problem SEEMS to be mod_security...
Can anyone clue me in as to how to configure OTRS/mod_security to not fight
each other?

I should also note the error message:
You don't have permission to access /otrs/index.pl on this server
additionally, accessing via https.
It only affects certain bits of functionality, other stuff works fine.

I've re-run the permissions script to no avail...  And really odd that I
can create new items but cannot edit them.
Any ideas where I should direct my efforts?
