In versions prior to 2 (at least) there is really no separation betwwen code and visualization. The layout is made in each file inside the Kernel/Modules directory and in some files on the Kernel/Output/HTML directory. Meaning: If you change something in these files, you'll affect every theme (you can bypass this, but that requires some coding).
