[otrs] Pending auto close +/-

I can't seem to find this in the docs (please forgive me if I'm just too thick to find it). What are the differences between Pending Auto Close + and Pending Auto Close -? I'd just like to know EXACTLY how OTRS is going to behave before I start using this feature.
