Would it be possible to see how many open tickets a customer has while viewing a ticket?

I'm looking at 2.4.0beta2 and there is an 'Open Tickets (n)' link, where n is the number of open tickets, under Customer Info which does exactly that. I'm running 2.2.7 so don't know whetehr it is new in 2.4 or was introduced earlier. Jim
