Nope. In karmic you're getting 2.3.4-1 The latest version is 2.4.7

Obviously running Karmic in Production is a risk as it is "bleeding edge", but it is working fine for me so far...

karmic is not bleeding edge. It's the currect stable release. lucid is "bleeding edge". lucid does indeed contain 2.4.7-1.
