I´m not an experienced LINUX-Admin, so I have a few problems with the mail configuration.
Please tell us what sort of Linux Distribution you are using. For now I assume that you are using a SuSE 8.0. Knowing the distribution makes it easier to give advices.
Question: Must I use sendmail with otrs? If so, must I use a Relay-Server (the Exchange-Server) in the configuration of sendmail?
Unfortantly I don't remember the exact sendmail software configuration for that on a SuSE 8.0. Please have a look at the directory /etc/sysconfig/ there should be a file named "sendmail". In that file should be a RELAYHOST part. Please change the value of that to the IP Adress of your Exchange-Server. After that start SuSEconfig and restart your sendmail (rcsendmail restart). That should be it. In worst case call the SuSE Support. They should be able to tell you how to do it within 90 seconds. Please be sure that the Exchange system allows to be used as a RELAY from the Linux system. Maybe you have to allow it. I don't have a clue about Exchange.
