I am trying to install OTRS 2.0 on debian testing. I downloaded the .deb, resolved the dependencies but I'm having trouble apparently with mod_perl2. Without mod_perl the performance is really poor, so I need it... It seems to me that the mod_perl2 is broken. Anyone got this running?
Not really. I tried on Friday to do this on a Debian/Sarge by re-building the 2.0.2 OTRS sources with the diff from Debian's 2.0.1 package (so I now have a 2.0.2 Debian package for Sarge ;). Unfortunately all kinds of random effects are happening when I use the mod_perl2 setup: Whenever I click on a link (any link in OTRS) I get a more or less _random_ page. Click on the link a couple more times, and you might actually get the page you were expecting. When my colleague logs in with his user name then _my_ user name is shown for him. It seems there's some major variable leakage or something... I don't know. We're back to a perl/cgi based setup, but that's a lot slower than OTRS 1.3 was.
