Yes, you can configure it:
"CustomerUserSearchFields" is the options, add you additional fields there.
Where can I see the effect of "CustomerUserSearchFields" definition change? I could not find at all on agent util ot phone view.
phone view -=> type search option into From: and click "serach customer". Then you will get a result list.
