[otrs] Case timer/aging

In the demo system the case aging continues after the case is closed and locked - so what stops the clock? I would like to see what the elapsed time was from open to present if it is open, but from open to closed if it is no longer open. Is this the wrong place to look or should I close in some way that stops the clock?
