Can you confirm that the SMTP server is running and listening on port 25 and/or 478?
478? That's a non-standard port for anything SMTP related. Check for port 25 (SMTP) or 465 (SSMTP) or 587 (Submission)
I stand corrected. I was trying to remember the SSMTP and Submission ports, and got them mixed together. I need better brain backups. 8-)
