As we are reorganizing our internal servers, we are wondering if OTRS can be hosted on a FreeBSD server, and if so, are there any special considerations not in the documentation about which we need to be aware?
Not that I knew of one.
I am presuming that if we just transfer the mysql database and the web directory as per the migration/backup documentation that we would otherwise be OK.
You might want to think about the right place for OTRS to live in. /opt/ might not be the wisest choice. Compare it to Debian - our Deb packages install to /usr/share instead of /opt. For sure this doesn't change a thing when it comes to OTRS' functionalities, it's just a matter of taste and style.
