Hi Alexander, Problem 1 seemed to resolved itself for me automatically. Not sure quite what happened there. I can confirm problem 2, but not problem 1.
I use OTRS 2.4.6 installed from source. When I update the _working_ support module from 1.0.95 to 1.0.96 I get the same error like you, otrs.log :

The error is reproducible, I think it's a bug in support 1.0.96. Please create a bug report and post the id or wait for me doing so within the next days. At the moment I'm still analyzing this. Additionally I got the following cron job error, but only once in 3 tries :
Can't find string terminator "'" anywhere before EOF at /opt/otrs/Kernel/Config/Files/ZZZAAuto.pm line 4212. Compilation failed in require at /opt/otrs/Kernel/Config/Defaults.pm line 2331.
