Hahaha, sorry about that - yes, I meant writes :) When I enter a change I enter information in the description, title and justification fields. I click SAVE the system pauses for about 15 seconds then returns the error. When I go back to Changes|Overview, my change is there only without the detail I added in the description, title and justification fields! If I edit that record and enter my details, the dbase accepts the changes without issue. However, if I try to make changes to an existing change by adding a workorder or condition the error returns. Can you connect to postgres?
Yes, I can connect to postgres and was able to get to MySQL before when I used that.
Will postgres accept connections from the OTRS (user/pass correct, ACL correct)?
It seems to accept all users and the permissions I set in OTRS seem to be valid (ei: I can see everything I am supposed to see)
What does PostGres' logs indicate?
I didn't see anything in the event viewer at all. I changed postregresql.conf to write (not right :) ) to a CSV moving forward. I will post results when I get them!
Is the OTRS DB connection correct (hostname, etc. etc.)?
The DB was installed on the same machine as the application. Localhost is correct - hostname identified in the install of OTRS is correct.
Thanks again for your help. In either case I don't understand what it meant by this? Can you connect to postgres? Will postgres accept connections from the OTRS (user/pass correct, ACL correct)? I agree it's a simple enough error to diagnose, and I'm sorry for not being more clear but PostGres IS running, just like MySQL was running before when I used it. Another issue is that even though that error occurs, the system rights my change into the database, just without my changes. I assumed that postgres and/or sql was configured by OTRS to listen on the localhost/127.0.0.1 - is that an incorrect assumption? My firewall is off and has been off since install. If I need to make some additional change to the database to get it to listen on the localhost please let me know. Thank you! OTRS is unable to connect to the database... possible causes include postgres isn't running, postgres isn't listening on the localhost/127.0.0.1, firewall is blocking the connection.
