But memcached only makes sense if you have access to lots of memory; that's what it uses for caching. VPS typically do NOT have lots of memory, so it wouldn't be of much use.....

I think this is neccessary feature. Performance of my server is not bad - we have good hw, but I want to decrease it load. I think users, which have low-end hardware or VPS will estimate it.Martin Edenhofer wrote:

There is a cache object in OTRS available with currently one backend (file system). It is totally easy to write a backend for memcached.
