Michael,

Also be careful about what you think a good backup is.  The database does NOT store all of the system config settings.  Most of these are stored in :

Kernel/Config/Files/ZZZAAuto.pm and
Kernel/Config/Files/ZZZAuto.pm

If you don't back those up, most of your customizations will be lost if you tried to reinstall OTRS on another server if your production server died.
