For me that is working fine. We dont have that many people accessing our
otrs
so even if some IE versions are displaying the user-friendly page, I dont
care ;)

as I know and tried on several computers, IE always shows the user-friendly pages. And he doesn't care if the webserver has configured error pages or not. There was a time, I guess in 5.x or so, it was possible to disable this feature.
I am not sure, if it's still like this in 6.x.
