This one ended up being a little tricky to solve. In http.conf the setting "MaxRequestsPerChild" is set to zero. However at the end of http.conf is an "include" statement that points to "<DRIVE>/OTRS/otrs/scripts/apache2-httpd-new.include.conf". In the file "apache2-httpd-new.include.conf" the parameter "MaxRequestsPerChild" is set to 400. I have set this to zero and the issue went away.
Regards,
Ron

You could also try setting MaxRequestsPerChild in httpd.conf to "0" this will prevent the process from being restarted after X requests.
The only disadvantages are:
Setting MaxRequestsPerChild to a non-zero limit has two beneficial effects:
- it limits the amount of memory that process can consume by (accidental) memory leakage; - by giving processes a finite lifetime, it helps reduce the number of processes when the server load reduces.
So you might want to schedule an Apache service restart maybe once a week, once a day depending on how tidy OTRS is with memory usage.
