There is a limit of max. searched tickets (DOS!). 

You can change it with:

Kernel/Config.pm
[...]
    # default limit for Tn search
    $Self->{SearchLimitTn} = 80;

    # default limit for Txt search
    $Self->{SearchLimitTxt} = 80;
[...]
