I'm happy to have a crack at installing from source, but I just wondered if anyone had it working.
OTRS 2.2 final hasn't even been released yet and I believe it usually takes some time for a package to enter stable, so I guess that if you really want OTRS 2.2 now you'll need to go with the experimental package or try the tarball. Nils Breunese.
