I have an idea that would use the Generic Interface of OTRS 3.1 to grab emails/make tickets via EWS (Exchange 2010+) *on demand* instead of scheduled POP3/IMAP. It could make your email administrator happier, too.

Anyone implement it this way?

I'm willing to collaborate on it.
