Something for you to check... My antivirus software, McAfee 8.5i blocks outbound SMTP traffic by default. Check to see if your antivirus software is blocking your traffic. A simple test would be to try to telnet to port 25 on your SMTP/mail server and see if you get connected. Fwiw, I have OTRS 2.2.7 installed on Windows Server 2003 and it is working perfectly. The only thing I had to change was to reconfigure the e-mail notifications to use a smarthost.
