FAQ search does not return anything

Hi, I'm trying to have FAQ work on our system. Creating, editing, deleting articles is ok, but the search function does not return any result. I have only the Welcome article that is present at OTRS install. Doing a blank search (no fulltext, keywords, category or language selected) gives nothing, while it gives result on the online demo system. non-blank searches do not work any better. I have updated Kernel/Modules/FAQ*, Kernel/Output/HTML/FAQ.pm and Kernel/Output/HTML/Standard/FAQ* from cvs, but it did not help. I could not spot anything in the documentation about the FAQ system, I might have missed it, so any help or pointer would be appreciated. Brice

What about putting some articles in it to see how it behaves then? You will then become somewhat comfortable with the different settings available for a FAQ entry.

Edit the entry and set it's type to "public(all)" or "external (customer)", now you find it. hth, Robert Kehl -- ((otrs.de)) :: OTRS GmbH :: Norsk-Data-Str. 1 :: 61352 Bad Homburg http://www.otrs.de/ :: Tel. +49 (0)6172 4832388

Hi Robert,
What about putting some articles in it to see how it behaves then? You will then become somewhat comfortable with the different settings available for a FAQ entry.
I've been using articles creation, edition and deleting, but the created articles didn't show in the search result either. They were all of 'intern' type though.
Edit the entry and set it's type to "public(all)" or "external (customer)", now you find it.
Now, I find it, indeed ! But why doesn't the search from the agent's interface show the articles written for agents, then ?

It does help, thanks ! Brice Levy

This can now fixed by exchangig Kernel/Modules/FAQ.pm with at least version 1.4.2.1 for the rel-1_2 branch or version 1.5 for the MAIN branch. Download the required one from CVS or via these links: http://cvs.otrs.org/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/otrs/Kernel/Modules/FAQ.pm?re v=1.4.2.1 http://cvs.otrs.org/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/otrs/Kernel/Modules/FAQ.pm?re v=1.5 hth, Robert Kehl -- ((otrs.de)) :: OTRS GmbH :: Norsk-Data-Str. 1 :: 61352 Bad Homburg http://www.otrs.de/ :: Tel. +49 (0)6172 4832388
