Adding status to email notifications

I'd like to append an email notification with the current status of the ticket - after the submitting the email content, and updating the status in the ComposeEmail page. I've changed the email body to include the ticket status, however this is picked up from before the email is submitted, and therefore doesn't have the new status Greg
