Is there any documentation on setting up OTRS to check a POP3 account over an SSL connection? I've seen it mentioned a few times on-list that this feature might be in OTRS already, or planned for the near future. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks! -- - Mitchell

Hi Mitchell Vincent. Imho this is not implemented yet. See: http://bugs.otrs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1753 -- Greets André Bauer System: Debian 3.1 / Apache 2.0.54 / MySQL 4.0.24 / OTRS 2.0.4

Hi Mitchell, this might be of interest for you: http://www.cape-it.de/download/Postmaster%20Mail%20Account-0.1.1.opm http://www.cape-it.de/download/Postmaster%20Mail%20Account-0.1.1.opm.gz ...the postmaster-mailaccount-package (PMMA) supports IMAP(S) and POP3(S). It's intended to be used in the same way as the common postmaster module. A cron job template is included as well. After installation you'll find an additional entry in the admin area, where you can configure your mail servers. However, PMMA requires some additional CPAN-modules. Therefore the script otrs.checkModules is replaced. It's gonna tell you which modules are missing. In a previous version those modules where included but somehow this approach didn't work on every OS so I removed them again. Please feel free to give any response about possible bugs and missing features. See also: http://www.mail-archive.com/dev%40otrs.org/msg01584.html regards, Torsten Thau - -- Torsten Thau, Dipl. Thanks Thorsten! That looks great!
However, I'm *painfully* ignorant of all things Perl so I'll have to
as a super newbie question. What is an .opm file and how would I go
about installing it?

Hi Mitchell, an OPM is an OTRS package that includes some modules, translation files and others for an additional function. You may install it through Admin-GUI. 1) download Opm http://www.cape-it.de/cgi-bin/show.pl?content=downloads => Mail-Postmaster für OTRS, Framework 2.1.x und 2.2.x (POP3, POP3S, IMAP, IMAPS) (.opm) Version 0.1.1 from 2007-08-03 or direct link http://www.cape-it.de/download/Postmaster%20Mail%20Account-0.1.1.opm 2) install Opm through Admin->Misc->Package Management from local file Postmaster Mail Account-0.1.1.opm 3) shift to shell (console) 4) cp <otrs>/var/cron/postmaster_pmma.dist <otrs>/var/cron/postmaster_pmma 5) reinititialize the crontab of otrs user (it might be neccessary to adapt some paths [that depends on your operating system and environment]) 6) be glad ;-) and configure your Mailaccount through Admin->Misc->PostMaster Mailaccount Regards and HTH, Rico On Sun, 26 Aug 2007, Mitchell Vincent wrote:
