Instructions on How To Upgrade OTRS from 2.0 to 2.2 in Linux

Hello, everyone! I've searched all through the Web for instructions regarding the OTRS upgrade in a Linux environment. I was unsuccessful, though. Could anyone tell me where is this information to be found? My OTRS is currently installed on a Debian System, and was setup with a debian package. Any help is appreciated. Best wishes, Harry

Hi,
I just upgraded from 2.0.4 to 2.2.3 the other day.
Most of the instructions are in the package file for
the upgrade. There is a file called INSTALL and
UPGRADE , whether you use the tar.gz or rpm. I would
suspect that also debian would have same if using
different from above.
Piece of information i did not find in that file, but
useful:
For the database, make sure you run the database
conversion script from release-to-release. You should
not jump them, i.e. 2.0-->2.1-->2.2
And, for your personal configuration, using otrs
itself, save your config from inside otrs->sysconfig
into a text file, and (up)load these configurations
into the latest otrs you install via sysconfig as
well.
Very minimal file editting needed, if at all.
_Thanks
Richard

I believe there are packages for 2.2 in the unstable repositories for Debian. In you're running stable you're getting 2.0. You could also install from source. Nils Breunese.

Thanks a lot, folks!
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to install unstable packages in the server, on
the account of security issues due to strict company policies.
Also, I'd like a "painless" way of performing this upgrade.
Richard, you mentioned an upgrade package... Where can I find it?
Best regards,
Harry
