Unsuccessful upgrade to 1.2.x

Upgrading a test system to 1.2.1, and then to 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 was apparently successful. I've now attempted to upgrade a production system from 1.1.1 to 1.2.3, but I've very quickly had to back out. Display of QueueView (independent of Lite/Standard front-end setting) fails to complete in some cases. Sometimes a partial entry is output, and then the browser (I've tried different ones) appears to be continuously busy. Output consistently stops in the same places. I don't believe there is anything wrong with the tickets that OTRS is trying to display when output stops as I am able to Zoom a ticket if the Zoom link is present, and I get sensible results if I access the database using the mysql command directly. Furthermore, a ticket that appears to be the cause of the problem when displaying Personal Queue is displayed successfully when viewing just the queue that it belongs to (but output then stops at some other ticket in that queue). If I Lock the ticket, then when the display is refreshed the display of Personal Queue stops earlier, i.e. at a ticket that was previously displayed correctly. Any hints on how to get to the root of the problem? No errors are being logged. NB I get the same behaviour with both 1.2.1 and 1.2.2. Jim
