Daniele, I intend to configure the DNS Servers to enforce the OTRS make MX nslookups in outside DNS servers of my LAN. Why someone should set DNS in OTRS? OTRS is a ticketing system, not an Operating System: of course it uses the DNS defined on the underlying OS. ________________________________ Da: otrs-bounces@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-bounces@otrs.org] Per conto di Camilo Vieira Inviato: mercoledì 16 luglio 2008 23.18 A: otrs@otrs.org Oggetto: [otrs] How to set DNS server in OTRS? Hi, I was just wondering if somebody to know how to set DNS servers within OTRS. Thanks. Ok, sorry Camilo: I misunderstood you question. Anyway I don't think you can do this directly inside OTRS. I'm not that DNS expert, but maybe is possible to filter MX DNS nslookups (q=mx) coming from a specified IP address (the one of your OTRS server) redirecting them to an outside DNS server. Just put your outside DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf (if you're on Linux). Be aware that this changes DNS lookups for the entire server, not just the OTRS application. If other applications are running on that server they too will use external DNS servers. I don't think you can set DNS servers specifically within OTRS. -- Lars

Hi Lars,
I fixed the problem in my DNS server and the OTRS is being able to resolve
the MX servers.
Thanks!
