Hello all, I'm at the very early stages of planning an OTRS::ITSM deployment and have a question that Google couldn't answer. Is it possible (i.e. has anyone done it and documented it) to populate the CMDB with the results of an automated network scan? The product I had in mind was Spiceworks - the ability to migrate all that lovely detail of machine manufacturer / model number / serial numbers / hardware setup / software installations / BIOS levels / service tags (Dell..) directly into a fresh ITSM installation would be fantastic :) Cheers, Gavin.

Hi Gavin, I recommend the ITSM manual chapter 1 -> "New OTRS::ITSM 1.1 features" -> "CMDB Import/Export (CSV and API)" at http://doc.otrs.org/itsm/2.0/en/html/ch01.html#id525791 Regards Alexander -- radprax Gesellschaft fuer Medizinische Versorgungszentren mbH | Domicile and Register Court: Wuppertal, HRB 19359 | Bergstr. 7-9, 42105 Wuppertal Management Board: Andreas Martin, Dr. Heiner Steffens, Dr. Renate Tewaag Phone +49 202 2489 1123, Fax +49 202 2489 941123

Yep, all good reading - I guess my question is 'has anyone pre-packaged this work to avoid re-inventing the wheel?' Gavin.
