upgrading from an old version

Greetings, I've got an installation of OTRS 1.2.4 on an older machine, that I'm looking at getting migrated to a much newer OS (moving from WBEL3 to CentOS 5) and newer version of OTRS. Is it possible to upgrade the database from 1.2.4 to function with 2.2.5? Any tips or advice on how to migrate from 1.2.4 to 2.2.5 would be appreciated. -- --- - Nick Bright Network Administrator Terra World Tel 888-332-1616 x 315 Fax 620-332-1201

Just run all the applicable database upgrade scripts. The are provided with OTRS. Nils Breunese.

That worked fine. Perhaps those scripts should be mentioned in the documentation? All I had to do was: 1) Install the latest OTRS per documention 2) Delete the database it installed 3) Import a backup of my old OTRS database 4) Run the upgrade scripts in order 5) Start using OTRS 2.2.5 --- - Nick Bright Network Administrator Terra World Tel 888-332-1616 x 315 Fax 620-332-1201 Nils Breunese (Lemonbit) wrote:

The UPGRADING file in the OTRS distribution mentions you have to run these scripts. Nils Breunese.

Pardon my lack of clarity, I intended to mean the web documentation. --- - Nick Bright Network Administrator Terra World Tel 888-332-1616 x 315 Fax 620-332-1201 Nils Breunese (Lemonbit) wrote:

Hello We've been happily using OTRS 1.2.3 for a couple or three years now. Lovely. Thank you! The Big Question is: How do I go about upgrading to the latest ITIL-oriented version of OTRS? I'm hoping it's not very difficult. As it's very much live, I'd like to run a system in parallel before switching over. Ideally.
