POP3 configuration : keep the mail in the popped mailbox

Hello everybody, My apologies if the question was asked previously, but I didn't found an easy way to search trough archives. I wanted to know I f there is a way to keep the mail popped by OTRS in my mailbox on Exchange 2007 ? It will be used to backup every email sent and received by OTRS, and for techs to connect on this box with Outlook. Thanks for your answers. Fabrice.

Yes, this question is asked very frequently. http://lists.otrs.org/pipermail/otrs/2007-September/020300.html http://lists.otrs.org/pipermail/otrs/2007-September/020301.html http://lists.otrs.org/pipermail/otrs/2007-October/020775.html http://lists.otrs.org/pipermail/otrs/2007-October/020814.html Nils Breunese.

Hi Fabrice, OTRS is not able to do this, the best way is to create a mailing list of the email address you use for the feeding email address and then create 2 accounts, one OTRS picks up from and another that is an archive mailbox. e.g. support@domain.com -> backup.mbox@domain.com -> otrs@domain.com We have this setup and it works smoothly. Having mail left on the server using POP is a nasty way to do it, if the email server was having a bad day you could end up with lots of duplicate emails/tickets everytime it polled the mailbox. Hope this helps Steve Fabrice Verbrouck wrote:
