If your Application and MySQL servers are on different boxes check to ensure the MySQL server is listening on the correct IP address AND that you have the firewall open for the MYSQL port (TCP 3306) at least allowed for the application server. The MySQL server has other applications already connected to it without issue. also the otrs database has been created an populated with tables. I think what it boils down to is the windows bundle installer wasn't written to use an external database... I would happily use the internal db server if there was a post installation migration path to the desired database server. Hi Ryan, There is a problem in the 'old' web installer where it creates an incorrect user account on the database when using a remote database. I corrected this in the web installer that is in the Windows installer and in the upcoming OTRS 3.3.
