I'm looking for some help getting email into OTRS 2.0. I can access otrs via the webserver and I can see that fetchmail is getting the mail. It's connecting to my IMAP server and dropping the mail into /var/mail/otrs but I'm not sure where to go next. For background the OS is SuSE 9.3 Pro. I installed OTRS via the SuSE rpm and the webserver is Apache 2.0. Procmail is running. Thanks, Joel

I managed to get a test user into my users area, but I can see no way to remove this user? Am I just particularly thick this Monday? If so, can someone enlighten me and tell me how I go about deleting this user? Hello Zeke, In order to maintain full database integrity, it is NOT possible to delete a user via the GUI. If a user account is no longer required you can set it to 'invalid' within the 'user' section of the admin area. If you really want to remove a user - and are absolutely confident that there are no tickets (open or closed) which reference the user - you can only remove it directly from the database, but it really is not necessary to do this. OK I can see the reasoning behind this. It does leave me with the following question... If I have added someone who should be a customer as an admin, if I invalidate his admin account, with that user have any problems connecting as a customer? I suspect NO, but I have added AD integration for customer access and it seems as if I'm also getting that for administrators, which may be how this user ended up in the admin users. I will have to go back and scrub my configuration to make sure that 1) customers use AD to authenticate, and 2) Admins do NOT use AD, or at least regular customers can't accidentally log into the admin side with their AD username and password. I would prefer to have the system not lick tickets unless I specifically asked it to. Our MO is to pull tickets into our own queue, but we want to be able to easily see the other folks cases at all times. Can I change the system so that tickets are only locked is I decide to lock them? OTRS is working great, but I was wondering of anyone can recommend an open source asset tracking system. Ideally it would be great to have this as a module available under OTRS, but it looks as if that's not one of the available options just yet. IRM 1.5.5 ? ( http://www.stackworks.net/view.php/irm/ ) 2.0 requires PostgreSQL . A little surgery to carve out it's trouble ticket system would be in order. I think an asset management tool would make a good module for OTRS. James

The "IRM" system is pretty good, and easy to extend. The official site seems to be having some trouble, but here's a site which has mirrors and references: http://directory.fsf.org/productivity/special/irm.html James Austin wrote:
