Hi Imran, if you reloaded your apache configuration and the index directive still doesn't work, try to check it once again (e.g. syntax error). Another fix: set an simple meta refresh, that points to index.pl-file. It will do it, too. - Dan Imran Ali wrote:

hi Daniel,
I checked the apache configuration file yet again and no thr arent any
errors in defining the <directoryindex>. meta-refresh option is a good
work around but i would like to keep it as a last possible option.
Config: Apache 1.3.x, Win2k, ActivePerl 5.6.1, Mysql

i had somekind of the same problem tried around a little, nothing helped,
and as i always got a 404 Page when calling domain.tld/otrs i set
the ErrorPage 404 to domain.tld/otrs/index.pl and it works fine.
(of course, only for the otrs virtual server). i know its lame but it
worked and helped (and that fast)

Hi Florian, that would be odd. ;-) Because IE uses as you know (?) individually, user-friendly error-pages, that means he won't give you the customized error pages, definied in the .htaccess file. So it's a bad work around. - Dan Florian Gattung wrote:

Hi Daniel,
I am using IE and its works really fine for me. I guess IE only shows the
user-friendly 404 pages when theyre not configured in the webserver...?

Hi Florian, as I know and tried on several computers, IE always shows the user-friendly pages. And he doesn't care if the webserver has configured error pages or not. There was a time, I guess in 5.x or so, it was possible to disable this feature. I am not sure, if it's still like this in 6.x.

hi there,
well i am using 6.0.2800.1106.xps2.030422-1633 (german) and its using fine.
you might
have a try @ http://www.shellfire.de/otrs
or even
http://www.shellfire.de/otrs/somestuffhere/oranythingelse/tryitout/comeondoi...
For me that is working fine. We dont have that many people accessing our
otrs
so even if some IE versions are displaying the user-friendly page, I dont
care ;)
