Now that you mentioned the file, I remember I saw a problem with that perl module at the md5_hex() function.... I edited the file AttachmentStorageDB.pm and add the encode_utf8() inside md5_hex()... this is the result..
my $RealMD5Sum = md5_hex(encode_utf8($Content));
Does it work after this modification? What error occured before you modified this line?
