Hello all, I've read all the LDAP info in the documentation and though I haven't tried it yet I'm curious about something. Obviously we have a populated LDAP will OTRS pass the log in information to the LDAP server or does it parse its own user DB and THEN pass it to the LDAP. So I guess my question is better stated by asking if I use LDAP do I need to manually populate a OTRS user db? Also will the user information gleaned from the LDAP server populate the fields in OTRS such as name last name phone # etc. Thanks David Grimes Belo Interactive

Hey, OTRS passes the request directly to the ldap. IOW it will try to auth as this user. Since OTRS still needs a db user to work, it will create it on the first connect. Various information from the database are taken and added to the db user (from standard person and inetorgperson schema taken values). This situation might improve in February/March, depending on how good our new student is :-) -- Regards, Wiktor Wodecki net mobile AG - 40470 Duesseldorf - Germany 923B DCF8 070C 9FDD 5E05 9AE3 E923 5A35 182C 9783
