Help with email configuration and testing

I have the same problem. I successfully connected Outlook Express to my email server (both wth POP3 and IMAP) but I can't to that with OTRS 2.3.4 on Windows. I always get the error message [Wed Jun 17 17:32:07 2009][Error][Kernel::System::MailAccount::IMAP::Fetch][72] IMAP: Can't connect to *<server address>* ** In my log <server address> is the correct IP address of the server, the same used in Outlook Express. What I'm missing?

1. Check from command promt "telnet <server address> 110" 2. Check you perl installation has net::pop3 module. Hope this will help you to resolve the issue. What I'm missing? Shooting from the hip... name resolution, IP connectivity, & firewall configuration would be the first couple of things I'd think.

I'm using the standard OTRS 2.3.4 how downloaded by the OTRS WEB site. It say also Software error: No SASL mechanism found at C:/PROGRA~1/OTRS/OTRS/Kernel/cpan-lib/Authen/SASL.pm line 74 I cannot find SASL on the manual. Does it exist a god book on OTRS?

Outlook Express works properly so it shouldn't be a "name resolution, IP connectivity, & firewall configuration" issue. PS This mailing system is really obsole. I'd love to have a true discussion forum.

Is OTRS on on a windows platform!? If not I'd verify that name resolution
is the same from your Outlook Express system as the OTRS server/host.
Shouldn't be doesn't mean that it isn't. check that you can connect to the
mail server from the OTRS box (telnet
