Hello guys, Is it in some way possible to generate HTML mail? When I use HTML tags, the customer receives the e-mail as plain text, So the tags are visable, without the desired format. Any ideas? Or is this not yet implemented? Kind regards, Chris Reurings

Can someone say yes or no, or tell me how to change the plain setting to html? Otherwise my spended time is for nothing. ;-) -----Original Message----- From: otrs-bounces@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-bounces@otrs.org] On Behalf Of Reurings, Chris Sent: dinsdag 25 november 2003 10:10 To: otrs@otrs.org Subject: [otrs] HTML mail Hello guys, Is it in some way possible to generate HTML mail? Personally I haven't seen anything about HTML email in OTRS, and to be honest with you most people would argue it doesn't have a place in something like trouble ticketing anyway... (or discussion lists! :) I'm sure if you really had to use it for some arbitrary formatting reason (still not a good reason :P) you could do some sort of cheap hack on the source code if there wasn't built in support for it. I'd ask for the opposite--a way to strip all incoming e-mail of HTML tags. Seems almost an essential feature from a security perspective, especially considering the prevalent use of web bugs. Paul

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't OTRS display the plain-text version of emails on the front page, and you have to specifically choose to view the HTML version? -- Chris Salter -----Original Message----- From: otrs-bounces@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-bounces@otrs.org]On Behalf Of Paul Sent: November 25, 2003 1:00 PM To: 'User questions and discussions about OTRS.' I meant that by default to display a html stripped version of the e-mail, where only text and links were displayed. I.e. <html> <head></head> <body><p>hi there! Check out this <a href="http://www.yahoo.com">link</a> and picture! <img src="http://www.yahoo.com/logo.gif"></p> </body> </html> Would become... hi there! Check out this link (http://www.yahoo.com) and picture (http://www.yahoo.com/logo.gif) Then provide a link to view it in its original form as is the case now. Now you either can view the html or the code, but not the text with the html stripped or modified. Did that explain things better? Paul

Hmm... I can see why you'd want that, but as a paranoid lunatic (hey, it is part of my job description! ;-) ) I'd prefer to just leave it with the plain text version. At the very least, if you do implement this feature, please give the administrator the option of specifying whether to use it or not! -- Chris Salter -----Original Message----- From: otrs-bounces@otrs.org [mailto:otrs-bounces@otrs.org]On Behalf Of Paul Sent: November 25, 2003 4:55 PM To: 'User questions and discussions about OTRS.'
